Paste your Kruti Dev text and get clean Unicode Hindi in one tap. Free, no signup, and nothing leaves your browser.

Converted in your browser. Works with Kruti Dev 010 style typing.

How to convert Krutidev to Unicode

  1. Copy the Kruti Dev text from your Word file, PDF or old document.
  2. Paste it into the left box. The result appears on the right as you paste.
  3. Tap Copy result and use the Unicode text anywhere: websites, WhatsApp, Google Docs, forms.

If the left box already looks like readable Hindi, the text is probably Unicode already and does not need converting.

Krutidev vs Unicode, in simple words

Kruti Dev was made for typewriter-style Hindi typing. It hides Hindi letters behind English keys, so the Hindi only appears when the font is present. Send such a file to a phone without the font and the reader sees something like Hkkjr instead of भारत.

Unicode is the standard every modern phone, browser and app understands. That is why job portals, websites and messaging apps ask for it, and why people convert old Kruti Dev files.

Frequently asked questions

What is the Kruti Dev font?

Kruti Dev is an older Hindi font that stores Hindi letters on English keyboard keys. Typed text looks like Hindi only when that font is installed. Without it, the same text shows up as random English letters. Unicode fixes this because every device already knows Hindi letters.

Why does my Hindi text look like English letters?

The file was typed in Kruti Dev, but the font is missing or was lost when you copied the text. The letters you see, such as Hkkjr, are the real keys behind the Hindi word. Paste them into this converter and you get proper Unicode Hindi.

Is my text uploaded to a server?

No. The conversion runs inside your browser, so the text you paste never leaves your device. That makes it safe for forms, letters and office documents. Once the page has loaded, the converter keeps working even if your internet connection drops.

Does it work on a phone?

Yes. The tool is built for small screens too. Paste your text, tap Convert and copy the result. If the Paste button is blocked by your browser, long-press inside the box and choose Paste instead.

Why are some half letters or matras wrong?

Kruti Dev has no single strict standard. Some old files use unusual key combinations for conjuncts and matras, so a few words may convert imperfectly. Read the result once, fix the odd word by hand, and check that the Unicode font you use supports conjuncts.

What happens to English words in the same text?

English letters are also keys in Kruti Dev, so they get converted too. For mixed text, convert only the Hindi parts and keep the English words separate. Numbers and common punctuation usually stay as they are.
